altOn the morning of the 11th of February, DPAAL members participated in the "Working With Whitehall" workshop that the FCO organises every year, when it brings together press officers from all Government Departments to meet foreign journalists based in London.

The event, aimed at recently arrived foreign journalists who need to make contacts with Government Departments and for longer established correspondents who want to renew their contacts, was a success among the 40 DPAAL members that were allowed to be present.

CNN First Tour

We are pleased to have started September with new tours to media studios. On the 12th of September 2014, we had the first of several scheduled tours to CNN on Fridays afternoon.

The visit included a tour of the newsroom and meeting CNN's key editors and journalists for Q&A. The main idea of the tour was to find ways for journalists and producers to cooperate with the Embassies in a more efficient way.

View the limited places (a group of 7 with one representative per diplomatic mission), we will continue with more tours in October.

If you would like to participate in any of them, please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Important Information

Dear DPAAL members,

After an intense winter program and an immensely active spring term for our Association - filled with wonderful events: the London Press Club reception, The Economist John Peet's talk, Meeting BBC's producer Natia Abramia and our first visit to CNBC - I will go on Maternity Leave during the summer.

Please feel free to contact the rest of the Board (Vice-Presidents: Mrs. Sohair Younis, Mrs. Oksana Kyzyma and Mr. Xavier Chatel) with any suggestions or issues while I am away - and do get involved as much as possible.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again in our many more events to come... And please note in your diaries that we will have elections for a new Board, as well as renew our Liaison Committee, upon my return.

Kindest regards,

Maria Monteiro

President
